WAILUKU, Hawaii -

Maui County Ocean Safety officials announced Thursday that the beaches surrounding Palauea Beach in South Maui were reopened at noon.

This comes after a woman from Germany lost her right arm in a shark biting incident on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, a kite board was bitten by a shark in North Maui waters.

This was the third incident in Maui waters this year that a person was bitten by a shark.
