Big Island police arrest man for robbing bank

HILO, Hawaii -

Big Island police say they arrested a man for robbing a Hilo bank Wednesday afternoon.

Officers say the 61-year-old man entered the Central Pacific Bank on Kilauea Avenue around 1:40 p.m. He reportedly showed a note and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police found the suspect on Aupuni Street about 20 minutes later.
