Boy, 16, hospitalized after Waipahu skateboarding accident
A 16-year-old boy was hospitalized in critical condition Sunday afternoon after a skateboarding accident in Waipahu, according to Emergency Medical Services officials.
It happened on Lumikula Street just after 2 p.m.
It's unclear how the teenager was injured. The boy has since been upgraded to stable condition.
This latest incident comes nearly three weeks after a 16-year-old boy died after a skateboard accident in Hawaii Kai.
Reid Krucky hit his head on the road after he was holding onto a moving moped while on a skateboard.
Honolulu police say holding onto someone's moped is against the law and is a violation.
