"Cameras in bathrooms?!  They don't belong there.  Not in any way shape or form," said Don Quijote customer Keith Paterson.

We expect surveillance cameras in a lot of places, but customers at Don Quijote aren't too thrilled with the concept of the bathroom cam.

We went to check it out, to find out more about these extra set of eyes in what customers can assume is a private place.

We found the camera in the men's bathroom at the Don Quijote store on Kaheka Street.  The camera is placed above the sink, but away from the stalls.

We asked attorney Jack Schweigert about what laws could be broken by placing this lens above the sinks and away from the stalls.

"Cameras are becoming a way of life.  But, I would say that that individual who put that camera in that bathroom is running a risk," said Schweigert.

We reached out to Don Quijote and store officials told us that this was only a dummy camera placed in the men's room to scare off criminals with intent of stealing from their store.  They say thieves have repeatedly hit the 24-hour mart and that this was their way of combating the issue.

"But, what if they are dummy cameras and aren't recording," asked KITV4 News reporter Ashley Moser.  "They still shouldn't be there," said Paterson.

The store took down the controversial camera late Thursday afternoon.
