Construction worker falls to death

HONOLULU -

The Honolulu Medical Examiner  identified the construction worker who fell to his death Wednesday as 39-year-old Louis Martin of Wahiawa.

Honolulu police are investigating the death of Martin after he fell seven stories from the Embassy House apartment complex  around 10:15 a.m. Wednesday.

The construction site is located on Prospect Street near Ward Avenue.

Witnesses said they heard what sounded like a board breaking, and then saw a man in a safety vest fall to the ground.

Workers said there were two crews doing work on the building at the time. One was doing concrete repairs and another was painting.

Police say Martin was initially taken by ambulance in critical condition, but later died.
