Honolulu firefighters were called to battle back-to-back fires Wednesday afternoon.

The first fire was reported just before 11 a.m. in Hawaii Kai at a 3-bedroom home on Kaumakani Street.

Firefighters say no one was at the home at the time and the fire was confined to the kitchen.

It took crews about 10 minutes to get the fire under control.  Damage is estimated at $20,000.  The cause is under investigation.

The second blaze happened just as the fire in Hawaii Kai was wrapping up.

It happened along Farrington Highway in Nanakuli at a storage building across from Ka Waihona o Ka Na'auao Charter School.

No one was injured and firefighters were able to quickly bring it under control.  Damage was estimated at $10,000.
