An East Honolulu high school principal is the focus of an internal investigation by the Hawaii Department of Education, but officials aren't saying why.
Kaiser High School Principal John Sosa, a former DOE Honolulu district superintendent, was put on paid administrative leave this week.
"The Department has initiated an internal investigation, and at the appropriate time, we will comment," said Donalyn Dela Cruz, DOE director of communications.
Sosa has been with the DOE for more than 20 years.
During the investigation, Sosa is being replaced by Niu Valley Intermediate Principal Justin Mew. Mew says he was notified of his duties this past weekend.
