WAHIAWA, Hawaii -

Honolulu police say part of California Avenue in Wahiawa was closed Wednesday afternoon due to power lines that came down.

California Avenue was closed between North Cane Street and Iho Iho Place.  The downed power lines were reported just before noon.

The Hawaiian Electric Company says 800 customers in Wahiawa were without power.  A tree fell along California Avenue, probably the result of strong winds.  The tree fell on a utility pole and the power lines came down.

Ho'ala School in the area also does not have power.

A viewer, Richard Torres, sent in a photo of a tree down on Komo Mai Drive in Pearl City.

A wind advisory is posted for Kauai, Oahu, Molokai and Lanai until 6 p.m. Wednesday.  The advisory was extended for Maui County until midnight.

California Avenue was reopened just before 4:30 a.m. on Thursday.
