Downed tree damages truck, blocks Akepa Street

The problems started before daybreak when pounding rains gave way to gusts of up to 50 miles an hour over parts of Oahu.

PEARL CITY, Hawaii -

A downed tree cut off access on Akepa Street in the Pacific Palisades area Sunday afternoon.

Firefighters responded to the call of a downed tree around 1 p.m. and discovered that it damaged a parked Nissan truck.

Fire officials estimate the truck damage to be at $3,500.

Roads were reopened just before 2:30 p.m.
