WAILUKU, Hawaii -

Maui County police say Steven Capobianco was arrested and charged Monday in connection with two burglary incidents in September.

Bail was set at $10,000.

Capobianco is the ex-boyfriend of missing Maui woman Carly "Charli" Scott.  He was also reported to be the last person who saw her alive.

Police say on Sept. 18 at around 4 p.m. and on Sept. 19 at around 11 a.m., a person unlawfully entered a residence on Eono Place in Haiku.  The burglar rummaged through the unit and took a Dell laptop computer and a 20-inch iMac computer.  The computers were valued at $1,600 combined.

The burglar also deflated the tire to one of the vehicles and slashed the tires of another vehicle, according to police.  That caused an estimated $800 in damage.

The victim said she was holding onto one of the computers for a friend and the only other person who knew the location of the computer was Capobianco.  The victim later learned that some of her jewelry was also missing.

During a search of Capobianco's residence unrelated to the burglary case, detectives recovered a computer and jewelry.  The  burglary victim was later able to identify some of the jewelry as belonging to her.  The computer belonged to Capobianco.
