There are new accounts as to what started a brawl in Kalihi this past weekend.
A business owner in the area that doesn't want to be identified because of fear of retaliation tells KITV4 that a man had rented the Social Hall at the United Puerto Rican Association for his daughters birthday party Saturday night.
The source says while that group was at the party, another group of people showed up and were drinking and making trouble in the parking lot.
According to the source, around 10 p.m. the group outside tried to crash the party but was turned away. They eventually came back with more people and started throwing rocks at the group from the party.
That's when things escalated into a fight. Witnesses say about 15 to 20 people were involved using sticks, bats, and knives.
An officer trying to stop the brawl was knocked down and two others were stabbed.
Meanwhile a source says drugs, alcohol, and loitering are prevalent in the area on a nightly basis and an even larger brawl happened in the same spot around 5 years ago.
HPD has yet to make an arrest and says the officer that was injured is doing okay.

A brawl in Kalihi Saturday night left 3 people injured including a Honolulu Police Officer, the other two men with stab wounds.
The fight started around 10:40 P.M. near School Street and Aupuni street in Liliha.
KITV4 has obtained the exclusive video, but at the request of HPD we have blurred it to not hamper its investigation.
Witnesses tell KITV the scene looked like something out of a movie. It was caught on video by surveillance cameras nearby showing a crowd of people fighting in the streets.
"I didn't know who was fighting who, it just looked like they were just going at it," said Christian Cervates, a witness.
Cervantes manages the Mexico restaurant in Liliha. He just closed up for the night when he heard the commotion out front.
"They said one guy had a bat, knives and stuff, and they started fighting, bleeding and stuff," said Cervantes.
Cervantes tells us a group of about 40 people had come out of the rec hall down the street after a party. He says about 15 to 20 people were involved in the fight that escalated from the parking lot into the street, with cars nearly colliding with people.
One security camera shows a child stuck in the middle of the brawl. Another shows a man stabbing someone that was laying on the ground with a knife. One more angle shows people using any type of weapon they could get their hands on.
But it didn't stop there, Cervantes says an HPD officer pulled up and tried to settle the crowd when he was hit.
"All of a sudden he gets attacked and just goes down and I guess he must've called for backup because within like 20 seconds, maybe 10 to 15 cop cars just showed up," said Cervantes.
Cervantes says cops used tasers and pepper spray, but some people just ignored it.
"Some of them still kept fighting, some of them tried to run away and had to be chased down. It was like they didn't care who was there," said Cervantes.
According to police, no arrests have been made yet. The officer involved is a 51-year-old man that was taken to the hospital in stable condition.
Police are looking for a suspect who would be arrested on second degree attempted murder, second degree assault, and 1st degree assault on a law enforcement officer.
