KALAHEO, Hawaii -

The family of the Kalaheo man shot and killed by police on Kauai Friday night is asking for the public's help in finding information about the events leading up to the shooting.

According to Kauai Police,  21-year-old Mason Noah Kekuhaupio Saio, originally from Aiea, was seen near the Nawiliwili jetty with two guns in a parked car.

Authorities say he threw one gun out of the car, but officers fired when Saio pointed the other in their direction.  He died at the scene.

Saio's family is asking witnesses to come forward, especially those who might have taken video of the incident. Saio's brother Casey says, "Life will never be the same unless we find some closure."

Friends posted a memorial image on Saio's facebook page.

Family members described him as a loving father and talented musician.

He worked at the local Brick Oven in pizza in Kalaheo.

The family is seeking legal representation as it explores  options.

Services for Saio will be announced by the family.
