Fire crews were called to Awamoku Street at around 3 p.m.

When firefighters arrived, the home was engulfed in flames, according to fire officials.

The fire was under control by 3:19 p.m.

Fire investigators say one of the family members was cooking on the stove and left.  When he returned, the fire was out of control.

A total of 32 firefighters were needed to extinguish the fire and stop the flames from spreading to other homes.

Six adults, a 12-year-old girl and a 4-year-old boy were displaced.  Some of them had scrapes and a few minor injuries, but did not need medical attention.

The American Red Cross will be helping the family with food, shelter and other needs.
