Honolulu fire officials say a 2-year-old girl was rescued from waters off the Keehi Marine Center Monday afternoon.
The toddler was hospitalized in extremely critical condition, according to Emergency Medical Services officials. She later died.
Rescue crews were called to 24 Sand Island Access Road just after 4 p.m.
The mother of the child noticed the toddler floating in the water and screamed for help. A man jumped in a boat and pulled the girl from the water about 50 yard from shore.
