HONOLULU -

A gubernatorial democratic forum featuring current Gov. Neil Abercrombie and his opponent Sen. David Ige will be held Tuesday.

The Honolulu Japanese Chamber of Congress is hosting the event and giving the candidates a chance to share their views on issues affecting Hawaii's future, economy, education and energy independence.

The forum runs from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Japanese Cultural Center.

Also, candidates for the Honolulu City Council District 4 seat are gearing up to go head to head in a forum Tuesday.

Natalie Iwasa, Trevor Ozawa, Carl Strouble and Tommy Waters are the candidates expected to attend an hour-long campaign forum before the Hawaii Kai Neighborhood Board Tuesday night at Hahaione Elementary School at 7:30 p.m.

District 4 includes a large section of East Honolulu from Waikiki to Hawaii Kai.

Incumbent Stanley Chang is leaving the post to run for Congress.
