A grand jury has indicted a 20-year-old Kailua-Kona man suspected of assaulting two police officers.
West Hawaii Today reported Wednesday that Garrick Scott Simmons was indicted on counts of assault on a law enforcement officer, terroristic threatening against a public servant, resisting arrest and terroristic threatening with the use of a dangerous instrument.
The grand jury also indicted him last week on counts of burglary, kidnaping and theft.
Hawaii County police on Sept. 15 took a call that a man was threatening people with a knife at a home. Police say the suspect threatened an acquaintance and took items from his car.
Simmons was arrested. Police say he threatened and assaulted two officers. One suffered a concussion. Both officers suffered sprained knees.
Simmons posted $20,500 bail and was released.
