Eastbound lanes on the H-1 freeway from Likelike Highway to Ward Avenue are closed overnight until 4 AM.

The H-1 Rehabilitation Project is cancelled for Thursday, Sept. 26 due to the rain, according to the Hawaii Department of Transportation.

On the weekdays, the project closes the freeway in the eastbound direction between Likelike Highway and Ward Avenue from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. the next morning, weather permitting.  On Sundays, the project closes the freeway at 8 p.m.

The goal of the project is to add one extra lane in extra direction.  Crews will also repair the concrete, fix deteriorating parts of the road and upgrade the lighting.

More than 100 days of freeway closures are expected in the year-long project.
