Thunderstorms dumped rice-sized hail in East Oahu just before sunset on Sunday.  That kicked off a night of wild winter weather across the state.

After sundown, thunderstorms began generating frequent lightning over Oahu and Kauai.

Kauai fire officials say lightning caused a small brush fire in Lihue at around 6:40 p.m.  No structures were damaged and no injuries were reported.
