All things spooky and scary are coming to life at Universal Orlando.

Halloween Horror Nights is underway and offering everything from hundreds of zombies to a house full of werewolves.

One of haunted houses is called Cabin in the Woods.

"This house is insane. It's insane. The diversity of the characters we have in this maze is unreal," Halloween Horror Nights Creative Director Mike Aiello said.

Zombies threaten to attack Leon and Jill in the Resident Evil maze, which is inspired by the popular game.

Designers, technicians and directors have worked a year to bring eight mazes, scare zones and two shows to life. The goal is to terrify people in new ways.

"It's base human emotion. It's like happiness and joy. Being terrified is fun," Universal Orlando Senior Vice President of Entertainment Jim Timon said.

The iconic 1981 horror film "An American Werewolf in London" is recreated in detail. It's a secret how producers turn a man into a wolf.

"It's a very scary and kind of thrilling and fun maze, and I'm pretty happy with it," said John Landis, director of "An American Werewolf in London."

Halloween Horror Nights runs at Universal Orlando through Nov. 2.
