The event is held at the Hawaii Convention Center and will offer 80 hours of panels, discussions and forums all focused on Hawaii's conservation efforts.

Some hot topics include erosion to our coasts, sustainable agriculture and human impacts of our marine life.

"It brings a whole lot of expertise. Local, traditional and western sciences together and that gives the community a chance to learn from them and helps inform our decisions," said Gerry Davis of the Hawaii Conservation Alliance.

Over 1,100 participants have already registered but organizers say you can sign up at the door.
