Hawaii man indicted in the 2008 death of his wife
A 44-year-old Big Island man has been indicted on a murder charge in the 2008 death of his wife.
The Hawaii Tribune-Herald reports a Hilo grand jury indicted Alexander Malani Gambsky in the death of 34-year-old Dawn Mancilla Gambsky.
He faces one count of murder 2 with bail set at $1 million.
Prosecutor Mitch Roth says a thorough review of evidence and new interviews led to the indictment. He says the renewed investigation uncovered new details in the case.
Friends of Dawn Gambsky reported her missing in July 2008 and said they hadn't seen her for six months.
Alexander Gambsky told police his wife had left him and no longer lived at the home.
Her body was found in a shallow grave in the backyard of the home they shared.
A bench warrant was issued Wednesday for Gambsky's arrest.
