LIHUE, Hawaii -

The Agency on Elderly Affairs has scheduled another round of its popular workshop series “Better Choices, Better Health” for older adults.

The six-week program aims to empower and teach seniors on how to better manage their chronic conditions, and to work toward achieving personal health goals.

“Better Choices, Better Health” workshop begins on Oct. 16 and will be held on Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Lihu'e Civic Center, Pi'ikoi Building, conference room A.

Participants must pre-register at least a day before the start of the workshop.

“Many Kaua'i kupuna have benefited from this program since we started offering it four years ago,” said Executive on Aging Kealoha Takahashi. “I encourage everyone who would like to improve their health to sign up for the workshop.”

The cost for all six sessions is $12 for seniors 60 years and older and their caregiver. It includes a newly revised companion book titled “Living a Healthy Life with Chronic Conditions” and a relaxation CD.
