HONOLULU -

Hawaiian Airlines announced Wednesday it has moved up its new daily year-round service between Los Angeles International Airport and Kahului Airport by one month.

The service was scheduled to start on June 1, but it is now starting on May 2.

The airline will also add a second daily flight for eight weeks this summer, doubling up on flights from June 30 to Sept. 8 and adding more than 32,700 seats in both travel markets.

"In response to robust demand, Hawaiian Airlines is pleased to advance the start date and increase summer frequency for our new daily Los Angeles-Maui service, giving travelers more options and flexibility to visit the beautiful island of Maui," said Peter Ingram, Hawaiian Airlines executive vice president and chief commercial officer.  "This summer, our travelers from Southern California will have non-stop service to each of our four main Hawaiian Islands."

Hawaiian Airlines previously announced that new non-stop summer service between Los Angeles and both Lihue, Kauai and Kona on the Big Island will commence this June, connecting all four main Hawaiian Islands to Southern California.

With the new start date for the year-round service and the addition of the second daily flight this summer, a total of more than 175,000 seats will be added to both Los Angeles and Maui's travel markets this year.

In addition, Hawaiian Airlines' Maui hub, which was established in 2012, offers an alternative connecting point for travel to other islands with its expanded neighbor island flight schedule.

The new daily service will be operated by Hawaiian Airlines' wide-body, twin-aisle Airbus 330-200 aircraft, which seats 294 passengers with 18 in First Class and 276 in the Main Cabin.

Flight HA 34 will depart Kahului at 3:40 p.m. and arrive in L.A. by 11:55 p.m.  Flight HA 33 will leave LAX at 11:15 a.m. and arrive in Kahului by 1:40 p.m.

The second daily flight this summer will be operated by Hawaiian Airlines' wide-body, twin-aisle Boeing 767-300ER aircraft, seating 264 passengers in a two-class cabin, with 18 in Business Class and 246 in the Main Cabin.

Flight HA 56 will leave Kahului at 9:40 p.m. and arrive in L.A. by 5:55 a.m.  This flight will be available from June 30 through Sept. 7.

Flight HA 57 will leave LAX by 1:30 p.m. and arrive in Kahului by 4:05 p.m.  This flight will be available from July 1 through Sept. 8.
