The National Weather Service has posted a high surf advisory for the entire state until 6 p.m. Friday.
The high surf warning was cancelled Thursday at around 3:15 p.m.
Forecasters say waves should decrease to 12-to-18-feet-high on the north-facing shore by Friday. East-facing shores should have surf heights at around 5-to-8-feet-high on Friday.
Expect strong breaking waves and rip currents making swimming difficult and dangerous.
Beachgoers, swimmers and surfers should heed all advice given by Ocean Safety officials and exercise caution.
Boaters should expect recreational surfers and body boarders utilizing harbor channels to access surf areas.
