A Hilo man was charged Wednesday for a host of charges, including kidnapping and sexual assault.
Big Island police say five charges were brought against 25-year-old Keahi Sale after a series of events that occurred over the weekend; events that began in Hilo and ended at a West Hawaii beach.
Officers say they received a report about Sale kidnapping an adult female in Hilo. The victim managed to call to bystanders for help at Spencer Beach Park. Bystanders then restrained Sale until police arrived.
Sale has since been charged with kidnapping, sexual assault, terroristic threatening and two counts of abuse.
Police say Sale was wanted on three unrelated warrants and had been featured on Hawaii Island's Most Wanted.
Officers' added that their investigation led to a suspicion of numerous additional offenses for incidents that reportedly occurred between September and April in Hilo and Puna. Those incidents reportedly include suspicion of felony assault of a female infant, counts of abuse of a 7-year-old boy, and unlawful imprisonment of a 33-year-old woman.
Sale is expected in court for an initial appearance on Friday.
His bail was set at $80,000.
