After sailing to each of the eight major Hawaiian islands, the voyaging canoes Hokule'a and Hikianalia recently returned to O'ahu.
Their first stop was at Makua Valley, an appropriate place for these symbols of healing to visit and bring the message of Malama Honua.
The purpose of this statewide leg is to engage community members of all ages in the wa'a experience, contributing to the Worldwide Voyage by adding their own mana to these canoes.
To top it all off, crew members got some water safety training from Makaha's own Brian Keaulana.
Hokule'a will be touring all across O'ahu in upcoming weeks. Find out your best time for a visit at hokulea.org.
