Hundreds lose power after branches hit power lines

HALEIWA, Hawaii -

Nearly 800 Oahu homes and businesses were without power for a large chunk of the day Saturday.

Hawaiian Electric said customers were without power in Pupukea after tree trimmers reportedly knocked down power lines while cutting coconut tree branches.  That happened around 11 a.m. Saturday.

HECO said  the downed utility lines were on Ke Waena Road.  Power wasn't fully restored till 2 p.m. Saturday.
