Inmate escapes from Laumaka Work Furlough Center
Honolulu police and sheriff's deputies are looking for an inmate who escaped from the Laumaka Work Furlough Center on Friday.
The Department of Public Safety said 29-year-old Ernest Vierra is a work furlough inmate and had a community custody status.
Vierra was discovered missing after a headcount at the Kalihi center around 8:30 a.m. Friday.
He is described as 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing about 150 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call police.
