HONOLULU -

Deliberations continue in the fate of a former Hawaii-based soldier facing the death penalty for his 5-year-old daughter's murder.

The jury returned to federal court in Honolulu Thursday morning, nearly a week after they were last together.

The jurors must decide whether Naeem Williams is sentenced to death or to spend the rest of his life in prison for the 2005 beating death of his daughter.

The judge is reminding jurors not to communicate with others about the case, after defense attorneys learned a juror posted on Facebook about his lengthy jury duty.

Defense attorney John Philipsborn told the judge Thursday the defense team did a Google search of jurors' online activity.

The American Bar Association recently said it's ethical for lawyers to scan social media sites of deliberating jurors.
