Kaimana Awards honors Hawaii's schools, student athletes

Some of Hawaii's high schools and student athletes received awards Saturday from Hawaii Medical Service Association.

The annual Kaimana Awards and Scholarship Program ceremony honored 21 athletes and thirty schools.
KITV4's Robert Kekaula helped hand out awards to students recognized for achievements in athletics and community service.

"These young people represent the very best that our community has to offer across the state because they have to demonstrate dedication to community and giving back," said Elisa Yadao of HMSA.

HMSA gave a total of $80,000 of scholarships at the ceremony.
