Joseph Kalani Contrades, 37, of Kapa'a pleaded no contest on Monday to the charges of sexually assaulting a minor under the age of 14 along with two counts of sexual assault in the first degree, according to the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney.
Contrades had been arrested and charged for separate incidents that took place from August 2013 until the date of his arrest on Feb.26.
He is scheduled to be sentenced on Aug. 7.
Each count carries a 20-year maximum sentence. However, the state agreed to request that the 20-year maximum terms of incarceration run concurrently, and to dismiss the remaining charges.
Contrades is currently in custody at Kauai Community Correctional Center, and the Hawaii Paroling Authority will later set the minimum sentence that he must serve before he is eligible for parole.
