Kauai officials investigating road dip in Lihue

LIHUE, Hawaii -

Kauai County Public Works officials are responding to a 10-foot diameter dip in the road on Pikake Street in the Pua Loke subdivision in Lihue.

One lane of Pikake Street, near the intersection of Pikake and Awapuhi streets, will be closed until further notice.

Motorists are advised to drive with extreme caution in this area.

"The cause of the dip is being investigated,” stated Roads Division Chief Ed Renaud. "As a safety precaution, we will be barricading the area and closing off this portion of the roadway while we investigate the cause and work to repair it."
