Some Kauai schools that delayed the first day of school are back in session.

School officials made the decision after Kauai's Department of Water issued a brown water advisory that affected the Lihue and Hanamaulu neighborhoods.

The schools affected were Kauai High School, Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School, King Kaumualii Elementary and Wilcox Elementary School.
