Manti Te'o was the the talk of Hawaii sports on Friday, especially at ESPN's 1420 radio.

"This is ESPN 1420 radio, Chris Hart, Gary Dickman."

"Right now we have Ron on the phone, what's up Rod?"

"Yeah I want to thank my Arizona Cardinals for picking up Manti," said the caller.

"The Chargers got Manti Te'o," said Gary Dickman, ESPN 1420 Sports Animals.

"No way, I just got a call that the Arizona Cardinals got him," said the caller.

"No, it was the San Diego Chargers at 38, they got Manti Te'o," said Dickman.

Misleading phone calls are nothing new to anyone who's been following the Manti Te'o saga, but many fans who follow Manti the football player wish their team drafted him. Others say San Diego is a good fit.

"Their losing a lot of players to the free agency, so he has a really good chance of starting or playing a lot," said another caller.

"Another guy from Hawaii, Colt Brennan got exposed against Georgia and he was a bust in the NFL, I sure hope Manti can change that pattern," said another caller.

"The thing with Manti Te'o, the cat-fishing thing, nobody knows how to deal with that because it's never happened before so that's what scared off a lot of people," said Chris Hart, ESPN 1420 Sports Animals.

"As far as him going in the second round, I think that's a good thing for him, I think he will succeed, I think he's going to surprise a lot of people," said Dickman.

"When he got drafted at Radio City Music Hall, the place erupted. It's turned so that the rest of the country is almost kind of behind Manti now," said Hart.

"We're excited for him, grateful that he has a chance to play in the NFL. We know he can do it, it's just a matter of where and San Diego being close to Hawaii, we'll be able to cheer him on," said Kale Ane, Punahou High School head football coach.

The City and County of Honolulu will host a parade for both Manti Te'o and Robby Toma on Saturday. The parade will begin at 4 p.m. at Hau'ula Beach Park and end at Laie Park.

Manti Teo will not be attending. He flew out to San Diego Friday night.
