Kamehameha Hwy. reopened after break repaired

A water main break near Pearlridge Center closes eastbound lanes on Kamehameha Highway between Kaonohi Street and Pali Momi Street Thursday morning.

AIEA, Hawaii -

Two eastbound lanes on Kamehameha Highway between Kaonohi Street and Pali Momi Street were closed Thursday morning due to a water main break.

The road was reopened by 4:45 a.m. Friday.

Water service was fully restored to all customers by 6:45 p.m. Thursday.

The initial announcement about the water main break was made just after 5 a.m. Thursday.

For a brief time, all of the eastbound lanes on Kamehameha Highway were closed.

The Board of Water Supply responded to the 12-inch water main break at 98-135 Kamehameha Highway near Lipoa Place.

A troubleshooter arrived at 6 a.m. and turned off the water.
