Man, 24, charged in connection with death of robbery victim

HONOLULU -

Police have charged a 24-year-old man in connection with the death of a 52-year-old woman he's accused of robbing in Waikiki.

Josiah Figueroa faces second-degree manslaughter and second-degree robbery charges.

Julie Stevenson was walking near an ABC Store on Ala Moana Boulevard on Feb. 2 when a man grabbed her purse and shoved her to the ground.

Stevenson suffered internal bleeding, a fractured leg and a broken hip.  She later died from her injuries.

Bail for Figueroa was set at $500,000.
