HONOLULU -

A 44-year-old man accused of setting another man on fire in Kaneohe earlier this month pleaded not guilty to second-degree attempted murder and drug charges, according to court documents.

Police reports show Lonzaga was drinking alcohol on May 7 with the 47-year-old victim when an argument arose.

Family members tried to stop Lonzaga.  They say the flames lasted for more than 30 seconds and went higher than the carport.

The victim was rushed to Straub Clinic & Hospital in critical condition.

Trial has been scheduled for July 28.  Bail was set at $200,000.
