CONCORD, N.H. -

A Concord man is facing three charges of simple assault after police said he tickled children at a park.

Police said David Johnson, 35, lifted the shirts of three children and tickled their bare stomachs on April 17. The children were ages 3, 5 and 7, and none were related to Johnson.

Investigators said a 9-year-old girl witnessed a man at the park at the corner of Perley and South streets tickling children, and told her mother. The woman left her apartment and saw a man sitting in the park, police said.

The woman yelled at the man, telling him to leave the playground. But the woman told police that the man then stood up, walked up to a 5-year-old boy and tickled him.

Police said the woman approached the man and continued to yell at him until he left.

Police said the man was identified as Johnson. Following an investigation, Johnson was arrested Monday. He is scheduled to be arraigned May 20.
