A man who pleaded guilty to having sexual contact with a minor will face jail time.
Bud Dwelly was sentenced to 18 months in prison for having sexual relations with a 14-year-old girl.
Dwelly pleaded guilty to several counts of sexual assault charges. He will also face five years of HOPE probation. HOPE stands for Hawaii's Opportunity Probation with Enforcement. Those in HOPE Probation receive swift, predictable, and immediate sanctions, typically resulting in several days in jail, for each detected violation.
Police say the Dwelly and the teen were acquaintances.
