COCOA, Fla. -

A Brevard County accused bank robber doesn't know what he's in for when he runs into a former Marine.

Cocoa police said Edward Sotelo walked into a Wells Fargo in Cocoa on Monday wearing a surgical mask and a hard hat.

He's accused of putting a gun in a teller's face and demanding money, but officers said that's when a customer, Eugene Storley, a former Marine and law enforcement officer, stepped in.

Officials said the Marine started fighting Sotelo until he ran off into a nearby neighborhood. He didn't get any cash, according to authorities.

Sotelo was caught and is being held on a slew of charges.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office has confirmed that Sotelo is the same person wanted in a similar bank robbery at the Fairwinds Credit Union on Alafaya Trail last week.
