HONOLULU -

The mother of a man found decapitated last year on Oahu speaks out about her son.

Clelia Pirotton of Kauai tells the Garden Island newspaper that she remembers her son, Alex Gonzales, as very strong and easygoing.

She also says he was a father, gifted artist, and guitar player and her life was shattered after learning of his death.

Gonzales, 34, was found on Sept. 15 near Mililani Cemetery Road.  He had been missing for about a month before that.

Bryan Suitt, 46, has been indicted on suspicion of second-degree murder in connection with Gonzales' death.  He awaits extradition from California to face the charges.
