Zipper lane open to all after H-1 east crash

PEARL CITY, Hawaii -

A multiple vehicle crash closed the left three lanes of the H-1 Freeway heading east near the Waiawa Road overpass Monday morning, according to the city's Traffic Management Center.

As many as seven vehicles were reported to be involved in the crash that happened just before 8:11 a.m.

The state Department of Transportation opened up the zipper lane to all vehicles just before 9 a.m. to clear the traffic backup on the H-1 Freeway.

The lanes were reopened sometime before 10 a.m.
