A flying saucer is coming to Kauai this summer. No, we are not talking about the kind you buy at the state fair.
NASA is gearing up to conduct the first test flight of a disc-shaped spacecraft designed to specifically land heavy loads and one day people on the surface of Mars.
The test is scheduled to happen in June over Kauai's Pacific Missile Range Facility, according to online publication New Scientist.
Scientists say they are limited in how they land on other planets and they are trying to develop a more graceful way to do so with such precious cargo aboard.
