The Jackson Zoo has a new family member, Jari, a baby gibbon.
Jari was born in the early morning hours on Nov. 23 to mom Mia, and dad Cookie-Man.
Jari is Indonesian for "fingers."
She weighs 1.3 pounds.
Jari needs to be fed every two to three hours.
A vet tech at the zoo is acting as a surrogate mom along with zookeepers that take care of the gibbons.
Zookeepers were afraid Mia wouldn't be a good mom to Jari, so the baby is being hand-raised by staff members until she's older.
You can see Jari weekdays at 11 a.m. at the vet hospital during her mid-day feeding at the Jackson Zoo.
