Rush hour on the H-1 near Middle st. is always good for a traffic jam. Today, motorcycle officer Stephen Keogh, and two other officers, wound up helping a family in a real life jam!

HONOLULU -

A police officer delivered a baby girl on a Honolulu freeway during the morning rush-hour commute.

The motorcycle officer delivered the baby at about 8 a.m. Thursday on the east-bound H-1 freeway near the Middle Street exit.

Officer Stephen Keogh says he delivered the baby in the front seat of the family's Nissan pick-up truck. He says the baby's parents were trying to make it to a hospital from their Waipahu home.

While it was the mother's third child, this was the second time Keogh delivered a baby while on duty on the freeway.

Emergency Services spokeswoman Shayne Enright says paramedics took mother and daughter to a hospital, where they were doing well.
