All westbound lanes of the H-1 freeway will be closed between Vineyard Boulevard and Halona Street near the Likelike Highway for the next two weeks.
The construction is all part of the state's latest freeway rehab project.
City crews began work on Tuesday and say the closures are scheduled to continue nightly for two weeks. Lanes will reopen at 5 a.m. every morning.
Officials say along with repaving the road, crews will improve lighting, drainage and glare screens.
The project will ultimately add a lane in both directions.
