A 63-year-old Aiea woman was killed Tuesday morning after she was run over by a Toyota Corolla driven by a 77-year-old man of a Pearl City address.
Honolulu Police Department traffic investigators say the woman was standing at the intersection of Moanalua Road and Kaonohi Street just after 6 a.m. when the Toyota collided with the truck heading west on Moanalua Road and ended up driving on to the sidewalk, striking the woman who was pinned under the car.
The woman was taken to Pali Momi Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.
This is the 49th traffic fatality on Oahu so far this year.
