Menehune Road in Waimea was closed Monday morning due to a landslide that occurred overnight Sunday, according to Kauai police.
Police responded to the scene shortly after midnight to find large boulders...
...tree branches and mud covering Menehune Road, just north of the Waimea Swinging Bridge.
The fallen boulders, ranging from 5-to-15-feet in diameter, damaged a water main and obstructed nearby ditches, causing minor flooding to surrounding areas.
The water main break resulted in a water outage for roughly 25 water customers.
Crews from the Department of Water responded and estimated that repairs would take roughly two to three hours.

The landslide also damaged one home's utility service line, causing that residence to go without power.
