HONOLULU -

State deputy sheriffs and Honolulu Police are looking for an inmate who escaped from Waiawa Correctional Facility.

A spokeswoman at the State Department of Public Safety said 32-year-old Raphael Hernandez was last seen at the 4 a.m. headcount today. Waiawa is considered a minimum security facility.

Hernandez was serving a five year term for third-degree promotion of a dangerous drug. He was due to be released from prison on March 30, 2016. He is described as six-foot-six, 190 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He faces an escape charge if he is captured.

Hernandez is the second inmate to escape from Waiawa in two months.

34-year-old Luis Garcia escaped on Aug. 19 but was recaptured a day later.

Anyone with information on Hernandez is asked to call police.
