Police say Robert Wayne Yount barricaded himself inside his Kalaheo home in the morning when two officers showed up to serve him with a grand jury warrant.

Investigators say he fired one shot in the direction of the officers.  None of the officers were hit by the gunshot and they were able to detain Yount.

Yount was originally booked on second-degree negligent homicide back in March after police say the vehicle he was driving struck and killed a pedestrian.  Jill Garnett was walking on the side of Kaumualii Highway in Puhi when she was hit.

Young was arrested Tuesday for first-degree attempted murder for firing a shot at police.  No other shots were fired and no injuries were reported.
